How do I get a link to an article?

Answer

A "permalink" or a "share" link is a stable URL provided by a database that reliably links back to a particular article, document, or item.

You can use permalinks in:

  • WorldClassroom
  • Emails, chats, and text messages
  • Citations

Database platforms have their own way to retrieve a permalink. Instructions for correctly obtaining a permalink in our three largest database platforms are provided below. Look for a "share" option or a "copy URL" option to get the permalink.

You should not copy the web browser's URL. Using the web browser URL can cause errors because you are required to use Single Sign On to access library databases.
