Can the Library supply Harvard Business case studies?

Answer

Most case studies from Harvard Business School and other commercial case publishers, like Ivey and Darden, are pay-per-use. The library cannot borrow these via interlibrary loan (ILL). The only way to use them is to purchase copies.

Students

If your professor requires you to access a commercial case study for a class, follow their instructions for obtaining the case.

Instructors

If you wish to use a commercial business case study in your class, a copy should be purchased by/for each student in your class. The library can't purchase these cases, and it is not within Copyright Fair Use to make copies without payment. Sometimes commercial cases are used for course or program assessment. Check with your department or the Walker School about purchase options.

Can I find "free" case studies? The library provides access to the Sage Business Cases database and the Harvard Business Review magazine and other periodicals that publish articles that are written as case studies. You may find more information on our Business Case Studies Research Guide.
