Placing a hold on library materials prevents others from checking it out before you can visit the library, and can make it easier to pick materials up. If a material is checked out, placing a hold will ensure that you will be the next person to check it out when it is returned.

When you find a book, DVD, or video game in the library catalog that you'd like to hold, click "Place a hold".

Then, click "sign in" to be able to place a hold on the book. You will sign in with your Webster SSO (email) information. Then click the "Place a hold" button again. Select "EWL Webster University Library" as the pickup location.

We will send an email to your Webster University email address when the material is ready to pick up. If you arrive at the library before you receive this email, your material may not be ready for pick up. When you visit the library, your material will be on the shelf inside the first floor entrance marked with the first two letters of your last name followed by the first two letters of your first name. Books are held for 10 days and media is held for 7 days before returning to circulation if not retrieved.
