Placing a hold on library materials prevents others from checking it out before you can visit the library, and can make it easier to pick materials up. If a material is checked out, placing a hold will ensure that you will be the next person to check it out when it is returned.

When you find a book, DVD, or video game in the library catalog that you'd like to hold, click request.

Then, fill out the form to place the request under your library account. Enter your name and 7-digit Webster ID number, followed by EWL (example: 1234567EWL). Your Webster ID number can be found on your Webster ID card or in your connections account.

We send an email to you Webster University email address when the material is ready to pick up. If you arrive at the library before you receive this email, your material may not be ready for pick up. When you visit the library, your material will be on the shelf inside the first floor entrance marked with the first two letters of your last name followed by the first two letters of your first name. Books are held for 10 days and media is held for 7 days before returning to circulation if not retrieved.
