Where can I watch a DVD from another country?

Answer

Some of the DVDs available in Emerson Library are not compatible with DVD players or media-player software made for use in the United States. For example, DVDs made for the Middle East are encoded for Region 2, and DVDs made for Latin America are encoded for Region 4.

If you would like to watch a DVD that is made for outside Region 1 (U.S. and Canada), you can watch it in the Library in the following locations:

  • A/V Carrel 123A
  • A/V Carrel 123B

The A/V Carrels are first-come, first-served.

The Library offers external DVD drives to check out for 7 days at the Circulation Desk on Level 1. These play DVDs from other countries.
